Mail Handling - CMRA

Hi there,

Are any coworking spaces out there who do Mail Handling for their members certified as a Commercial Mail Receiving Agency? 

What is the process of becoming certified and is it necessary?

My unofficial answer is that it's quite a process to get certified and they require a lot of paperwork and you may not want to deal with it. We tried it and gave up. I would follow the procedures on your end - take the correct documentation, etc to make sure you've verified identity of the mailbox user.

Our other unofficial answer; I would say though that USPS offices are inconsistent and you may get different answers; some USPS employees are unaware of it.
Here is a link to the form you need to fill out: http://about.usps.com/forms/ps1583a.pdf
Fill it out and take it to the main USPS distribution center;  ask to speak to a supervisor; if you're still not getting a sufficient answer, take it to the next closest USPS center.
The application is free of charge.

One of them is to ensure all mail is delivered.

Yes it does. We run a space and currently using our own a software platform/application we developed. It is also available to coworking spaces to help them manage all incoming and outgoing mail

In addition our system offers dedicated phone numbers wholesaled at a very deep discount to coworking spaces which in turn they (you) can retail at $12 to $15.
