Alchemical Spaces Co-Working Office for Social Entrepreneurship.
Free cooperative desk and office space now available on Near Westside.

The Alchemical Nursery, Syracuse 501(c)3 nonprofit working for
"Regenerative Urban Lifestyles & Landscapes", has announced the
opening of its "Alchemical Spaces Co-Working Office for Social
Entrepreneurship" within the Gear Factory studio warehouse at 200
South Geddes St on the Near Westside of Syracuse, NY.

Co-Working is the gathering of a group of people, who are working
independently while sharing values, and who are interested in the
synergy that can happen from working with talented people in the same
space. Many times, co-workers are from the world of the self-
employed; freelancers who have taken to working from home or the
coffee shop, and would like more of the social interaction that a
working office provides.

In the case of "Alchemical Spaces" our goal is to bring together
people in need of this type of working situation, and to focus on
those that are developing social entrepreneurial projects, using
business knowledge and acumen for the betterment of the social good.
In addition, developing resources specific to social entrepreneurs and
advancing knowledge of this working movement within Syracuse.

Co-working also enables the sharing of resources and expenses that
benefits the bottom line of the workers involved. Individual desks
are located in a shared room, with shared office equipment such as a
printer and supplies provided by the Alchemical Nursery. Workers also
have access to a conference room for meeting clients or holding
meetings, a community kitchen and bathroom, and common space within
the Gear Factory for stretching their legs and participating in the
wider community. The space will be open to "Associates" 24/7, with
free wireless Internet also included. There will also be
opportunities to take part in numerous social and networking events
through The Gear Factory and The Alchemical Nursery.

Thanks to support from the Gifford Foundation in Syracuse and its
mission "to build the capacity of individuals and organizations to
enhance the quality of life for the people of Central New York", free
desk space and office use will be available to social entrepreneurs
for up to ten months beginning July 1st. To be eligible, co-workers
must be involved in social entrepreneurial endeavors, and be
interested in working within a shared office space environment. Use
of the space is valued at $250 per month to the "Associate", costs
covered by The Alchemical Nursery. Value of the cooperative Co-
Working aspects of the space are priceless.

Other benefits include free off-street parking, indoor bicycle
parking, tax deduction for travel from primary home office, extra
filing cabinet and shelving space for storage, reading and reference
library on-site, adjacent to Lipe Art Park, free email address
available @alchemicalnursery.org, CENTRO bus stop only one block away.

For more information and to apply to the space, please contact

WOW congrats Franklen & Alchemical! I'd love to make a field trip up to Syracuse for the grand opening.

I'm eager to learn more about the details behind this and will try to give you a call sometime soon.

This is great and keep us posted!

Well, we had an Open House back in May as a soft opening. I want to
now start monthly Meet-ups/Open House days so that would be a great
time to visit. Our site is not typical by far. First off it is small
as we try to increase interest and participation in co-working here in
Syracuse. Our office seats 6 desks right now, with one additional day-
use desk. We do have the use of the conference room adjacent to the
office itself, that can seat another 5-10 depending on how close peeps
don't mind getting.

The office itself is in a studio space at the Gear Factory artists
studio warehouse. We are focusing our efforts on arts/music/invention
and community social entrepreneurship, so the office desk spaces are
exclusive right now to this range of workers. But the space is not
exclusive to our upcoming invitations for day use Meet-ups when we
will be trying to develop a broader general co-working community in
Syracuse.

Please feel free to get in touch at any time. Cheers ~Frank
