Happy April!

Yesterday we had the opening day work party, and accomplished a lot of work.  Thank you to all who participated.

Today there were two full lift parties, and we are well on the way to being ready for the season.

Here is our status on facilities and docks:

·         All the club vessels are launched and in their berths

·         All the mooring buoys are installed

·         All docks are installed and ready for boats, with the exception of 11/12 and 57/58. Those will be fixed as soon as possible. (This is an amazing accomplishment given the flood damage we sustained over the winter.)

·         The shelterhouse is setup and ready

·         The dayroom and kitchen in the clubhouse are setup and ready

·         The tables for the clubhouse are currently stacked near the flag pole so that our contractor can start work this week on painting the beams and fascia

·         The first of our member sailboats is launched and on its lift.  More to follow . . .

We will have another work party on the 14th to clean the tables and set them up in the clubhouse porch.

If you go up to the lake before the 15th, there are plenty of places to sit at the shelterhouse, or you can sit in the dayroom at the clubhouse.

Remember to share the information about our May sailing class with your friends.  The flyer is available on our website.

Plan on joining us on April 15 to get sailboats rigged and ready for the season and to participate in a warmup race to shake the cobwebs out.

I hope to see you all soon on the water and at the clubhouse.   (Remember that we have a new combination on everything this year – check with your fleet captain or a CLSA officer if you have forgotten it.)

Pete Japikse,

Commodore
