Medical Tourism is soaring in popularity and it's certainly true that
as more and more people combine a holiday in the sun with plastic
surgery the more people will try and exploit this popularity.
However, it is important to note that possibly local surgeons will see
the increase of local patients and customers moving to cheaper
destinations as a threat to business and will use the so called
tabloid horror stories in an act to deter would be patients.
Of course some of the horror stories are certainly true, but this is
due to a lot of homegrown surgeons especially here in Thailand that
are using the boom in medical tourism to take advantage in making a
quick buck.
Of course, with all surgical procedures their are elements of risk
involved even with the most skillful of surgeons and so it's very
important to feel safe and assured that your surgeons are fully
qualified and have many years of experience that keeps them held in
high regard.

cheap surgery themselves in a country that has less emphasis on
standards or under the pressures of being in a country they don't know
so well & don't speak the language and thus are left wide open to

This in effect has resulted in problematic procedures from unqualified
practitioners and has resulted in the bad press against the Medical

Of course we have mentioned it could also be argued that UK surgeons
and established clinics may well be using scare tactics to reduce
their losses in potential customers flocking to more affordable
countries to obtain the same if not better quality and services for
less.
However, It is essential that anyone considering cosmetic surgery
abroad should use only reputable surgeons and research their work
prior to taking this leap, just as you would do back home.
This is not as difficult as it may sound with the wonders of internet
and cheap Voip calls which certainly helps in the pre-consultation
stages.
But definitely it is not advised that you arrive in a foreign country
and go looking for a surgeon or clinic with limited time and pressure
whilst on your holidays. This is often what results in poor results
and fuels the fires of the hungry doom and gloom tabloids.
You need sufficient time to rest after any procedure, and many of the
disasters are due to traveling home too soon causing unnecessary
stress to muscles from carrying luggage or long plane journeys.
Any surgical procedure abroad will need careful planning and
sufficient rest in an ideal location. But at the same time you are on
your holidays and you want to enjoy them. After all you don't want to
be confined to your hotel room resting whilst your family are enjoying
the beach.
So it's all of these smaller details combined that can lead to bad
experiences and poor results and thats why it's essential that you
plan, with or without a specialist agency.
