ABOUT CRISTIAN AND VIRGINIA
Cristian and Virginia have
been dancing since childhood. He started with folk dancing. Her
background includes ballet, tap and flamenco. In 1992, they performed
extensively throughout Argentina as part of a
folk dance group.
Attracted by Tango, they
started to perfect their understanding under the tutelage of classic
milongueros such as PEPITO AVELLANEDA , ROBERTO HERRERA Y VANINA BILOUS
, ALEJANDRA MANTINIAN , EZEQUIEL FARFARO , HECTOR FALCON
In 1999, they traveled with
orchestra of Beba Pugliese the daughter of Osvaldo Pugliese and
performed alongside Vinana Bilous and Roberto Herrera. Cristian and
Virginia have also performed with the orquestras of SEXTETO TANGO ,
ROBERTO FIRPO , ARMANDO CALO , JUAN DE DIOS FILIBERTO, ORQUESTA JUAN
DARIENZO, and others.
In 2000 they started performing in Gustavo Russo’s TANGO SEDUCCION and
performed worldwide in theaters such as the OLIMPIA in PARIS
, the KREMLIN in MOSCow, and RONNACHER THEATER in Austria.
In 2006, they were invited to dance in Luis Bravo’s FOREVER TANGO
ensemble and have danced throughout the US and
other countries while receiving great reviews for their lighthearted
style of dancing.
While in Argentina, they performed various years at the
Ventana Tango Show, and did tango exibitions at various clubs such as
“EL QUERANDI”, “PIAZOLLA TANGO” and the famous “CAFÉ TORTONI”,
performed in variou theatres such as ASTRAL , METROPOLITAN , ALVEAR ,
CERVANTES and in the LUNA PARK
stadium as solo accompanists for the singer RICARDO MONTANER. They have
been featured in various TV programs among them a documentary on Tango
in honor of Osvaldo Pugliese for National Geographic. They also were
coreographers for a popular Argentine television Tango show” BAILANDO
POR UN SUEÑO (Dancing for a Dream.)
They taught and performed at the Montreal Tango Festival in 2008 as
well as in Escuela Tango Libre, and Montango also in Montreal; teaching
as well in LOS ANGELES , SAN DIEGO , CHICAGO , SANTA MONICA.
In 2009, they taught and
performed the SICILY TANGO FESTIVAL, the CORSINI TANGO FESTIVAL in
Troina and in other Italian cities including Rome.
They are active members of the Forever Tango dance company.
