Happy New Year from the Corvallis City Club! We'll have our first meeting of 2012 on Monday, January 9, 12 noon in the Banquet Room of the Renaissance Building, 136 SW Washington. Brian May and Julie Jackson of Allied Waste will discuss the status of the Coffin Butte Landfill and Allied Waste's recycling and composting programs. Doors open at 11:30, and as always, attendance is free. Lunch for members is $8 and $10 for nonmembers. So we can make sure to have enough tables and chairs ready, please register by sending email to nickho...@aol.com by January 6 with "City Club January 9" in the subject line.
Other topics we're planning for this winter and spring include a report on underage drinking, a discussion with Erin Prince (Corvallis 509J school superintendent), and Bill Lunch on the 2012 elections.
