Hopefully, Benton Co. Rights Coalition (GMO Free Benton Co.) will be putting on a Community Environmental Legal Defense Fund (CELDF) 3 day workshop the last week of June-first week of July. During the Public Presentation on the first day, I would also like to give time to CAMTA to do a short (10 min?) presentation, as well as table (passive) throughout the event. I am also trying to work in a community potluck in there somewhere, and you could certainly do active tabling there. I will get details to you as soon as things firm up.
We will also be doing a CELDF Democracy School for 20 preselected activists for our Rights Coalition on October 5th & 6th. CAMTA will be able to do passive tabling here as well. If there is anyone within CAMTA that has attended a CELDF related workshop in the past, and wants to commit to action in the BC Rights Coalition, CAMTA may want to actively sponsor that person. Because this event is going to cost us about $3,500, we are figuring that sponsorships will be in the $175 to $200 range. Again, I will keep you posted as things unfold.
I would also check the Co-op June Thymes event calendar (AND check with the editor for anything else they may know about for the future). There may be some more ideas there for tabling.
Oward!

Hour Traders has a Local Folk Festival June 24, 1:00-10:00 p.m. at Fireworks. CAMTA tabled at Hour Traders' Winter Gathering, but without much impact if I recall correctly. If June 24 seems like a worthwhile event for tabling, I will check into what the Hour Traders organizers think about that.Maynard

Bart, I don't think we have ANY philosophical differences AT ALL. Paul Cienfuegos may have a problem, but GMO Free and CELDF certainly do not. As a matter of fact, almost all of the CELDF groups are actively working with and mutually supporting their local Occupy and MTAs. All of our strategies are synergistic and are working toward the same goals.
And I will keep you all posted!

Thanks Maynard. I am sending this info on to Benton County Community Rights Coalition (BCCRC - formerly GMO Free Benton County).

I’ll look into it – it would go along with the 2012 state platform first priority. We might want to offer a little financial support for the booth rental. Perhaps we can discuss this at the meeting.

The Fair is a great suggestion.
I'm not sure VFP and Alt2War are doing their peace booth this year. We're still noodling that.
And someone else will have to address the Dems, but I'm doubtful they will permit it. They seem to fill their table (and table staff time) with selling buttons, handing out Dem material and doing voter registration...but it's worth an ask. Maybe Rachel could; they're pretty active with them.
We could actually table just outside the entrances. I've seen people do that. But it can be very hot and dusty. I'm not in favor of that option.

What does that take? Would we be able to share a table with VFW? or the
Dems? or somebody else?

Table anything the Spring Creek Project presents.
Project willing, of course, though I believe they will be and would be a great activist pool.
