Sprout Launches New Nursery School

Fall Creek, NY - May 5, 2009
Sprout, a new nursery school, today announced the opening of its
enrollment period for September 2009. The school will run 5 days a
week from approximately 9:00am to 12:00pm and will follow the ICSD
calendar. Ten to twelve students, between the ages of 2 and 5 are
anticipated at the school.

Located in Ithaca's Fall Creek neighborhood, Sprout will offer a 2, 3
or 5-day program focused in and around the natural world with an
emphasis on pressure-free and self-directed activities.

Jacquelyn Buechel and Jennifer Demarest, Sprout's partners, are both
mothers of young children. Between them they have over 20 years of
experience working with children of all ages.

Jacquelyn Buechel is an experienced child educator and advocate. She
received her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Salisbury
State University. Jacquelyn worked for Bright Horizons Family
Solutions in Camden, NJ as the Infant and Toddler Lead Teacher.
Jacquelyn believes that every child has a natural curiosity for
learning and they simply need to feel comfortable and to have
opportunities to explore.

Jennifer Demarest grew up in the local Ithaca area, graduating from
Odessa Montour Central School. Jen received her Bachelor's of Science
from SUNY Cortland with a combined major in Psychology and Sociology
as well as a double minor in Health and Studio Art. Jen’s experience
with children is wide-ranging with over 12 years of experience working
with both pre-school and school-aged children. Jen was the lead
teacher for Edgewood Cooperative Preschool for two years while living
in Providence, RI. Currently, Jen is employed as a Teacher’s Aide at
Community Nursery School in Ithaca.
