I did a straight update to a 6.03 patch and had no problem as far as I could
tell... was excited by the woodcut effect and applied that to one of my
photos and loved the result(thanks) saved as jpeg. I then moved to version 7
Corel draw to open the art and shrink to postage stamp size and print a page
and it would not open.. or import? what came up was a series of lines with
box marks to stretch or pull and tried to change the size? no go and it is
huge by the way. next went to Corel 7 photo and opened no problem!..went
back to draw and tried another jpeg or 2 just to check the program, not a
problem..went back to resave a different photo with the woodcut effect and
same all around will not open in draw but will in photo? any suggestions
thanks!

if it means anything, this has occasionally happened to me with DRAW 8 for mac
with images imported from painter 6 as .jpg, .psd or .tif files. and well
before versions 6.03 or 6.1. it's weird to, these corrupted images appear to
have only one dimension?! it has not happen to me for a long time now, for what
reason i don't know.

Painter works with bitmap images and Draw works with vector images. If you
want to do further work on an image saved from Painter you should be using
Corel Paint, and not Draw. (as you discovered)

So what you are telling me is that any piece I do in Painter can only be
changed in corel photo? even though it is a jpeg? and corel draw will open
other jpeg? and trying to resave it to jpeg in corel phot does not change
anything? so is there no way to move a piece i do into a brochre layout in
draw? or am i missing the tree for the forest? thanks for answer
cheers other wise Knock on wood so far so good and i have lot of cracky
graphics programs on my computer... i just love painter...cheers
