"Why is my network card not recognized by Corel® LINUX®?"
The link (below) to the PDF no longer works -- any further assistance re
configuring my SMC etherez network adaptor would be gratefully received.
Thanks in advance, all, for your assistance.

Why is my network card not recognized by Corel® LINUX®?
Answer:
The network adapter may not be supported under the Linux OS. To verify
the network card's
compatibility, go to:
http://linux.corel.com/products/linux_os/hardware.htm
If the network adapter is on the compatibility list, refer to the
Configuring a Network Adapter
document.

I tried modconf but did not reach the prompt asking for io and irq --
when I selected my card (smc-ultra.o), it just sent me back.
So I tried editing the modules file and added the line per the
directions as follows:
smc-ultra.o io=0x220 irq=10
nothing changed -- no error messages, no network card identified.
I edited the line to
auto smc-ultra.o ...
no success.
I edited the line to
auto /lib/modules/2.2.16/smc-ultra.o ...
no success.
If anyone can see the problem here I'd appreciate your assistance.
Thanks,
Bob
