I am running corel linux 1.0 (which I am really starting to like), and would
like to upgrade to 2nd edition. I downloaded and burned cd, but I want to
upgrade my existing version and not install from scratch. When I boot from
cd, it seems to want to install from scratch.

How can I just do an upgrade and keep settings, software, etc.? I have tried
running Corel update, but I am not sure if this is the correct way. Any
help? Thanks.

Its been quite awhile since I did an upgrade but the recommended
procedure is to use the 'update' feature during install. I know, you
didn't see that option :) If it updating is not an option I would
recommend saving all your data files, and doing a fresh install. It is
not recommended to update using Corel Update.
