Can anybody offer me any ideas on what's going on here? I'd really
appreciate any suggestions! The other thing is: I've read in a lot of posts
about how you need a minimum 1GB HD space. Is that true for all Linux? I
really just want to get this computer to do three things:
a) get on the network with my barricade router
b) successfully compile C/C++ code
Thanks in advance for any help or ideas anyone can offer. I'm open to
any/all suggestions!

Here is what it says:
Problem
After installing Corel® LINUX® the system reboots and "L"
followed by an endless
stream of "01010101" appears on the display.
Answer:
This usually indicates that the file /boot/boot.b is in a
location that the BIOS
is not able to access. Quite often the hard disk is on the
secondary IDE interface
or the Linux boot information does not reside prior to the
1024th cylinder. If the
BIOS has LBA enabled, the 1024th cylinder will be at around
8 gigabytes. With LBA
disabled it is around 540 megabytes. When partitoning the
drive, ensure that Corel
LINUX's partition does not begin after the 8 gigabyte mark
(for most LBA drives).
If the hard drive is on the secondary IDE interface, also
try switching the hard
drive it to the primary IDE controller

Also, I could not get Corel Linux 1.0 with the Desktop Plus
option to install in 1 gig. I gave it 2 gigs and it
installed ok. Probably depends on what all options you are
installing with your custom install. I think CLOS uses a
lot of space during the install that is not used when the
install is done.
