Shift+Ctrl+L is the command to Dry Digital Water Color.
In Painter 8, have the Shift+F6 keystrokes programmed to Dry Water Color
Layer but it's hopeless. 99% of the time nothing works (read nothing in
the Painter interface is accessible) until the Water Color brushstroke
is darn well finished, unless it's a light brushstroke with not a lot of
paint being laid down and then the brushstroke is completed and dries
quickly anyway.
In Painter 7, sometimes I've been able to stop it by clicking Canvas in
the Layers list but most often it doesn't work and when it does, far
from immediately. As soon as I highlight the Water Color Layer again, it
continues the brushstroke. Of course the Water Color Layer has to be
highlighted to use the Dry Water Color Layer command, so there we are.
Again, it's especially hard to stop the process when there's a lot of
paint laid down and/or when using Wet Entire Water Color Layer.
