I just got an e-mail from Procreate telling me to
download the new patch...BUT it is available only
for the MAC!!! I guess WinDoze is not
ready for prime time...

I am bummed at this slight to the majority of their
customer base! Any one else get the feeling that
we (PC owners) don't matter...sort of second class
users in their eyes?

What is wrong with making both versions available
at the same time?

Richard

Hi Richard,

The Windows version is available as well--it's just a little hidden. Check
the site again, and when you get to the download page, pass your mouse over
the down scrollbar button (looks like this: V). The Windows file will scroll
into view.

That's OK, Richard. You made me laugh when I needed to...

Cliff,

After 50 years of making mistakes and
hitting myself in the head with the "DUH" bell
I still crack myself up enough to keep the shrink
away. But I gotta say...sometimes I'm just a
waste of good bandwidth. 8>)

Painter People,

To settle the issue of whether or not the Procreate site is working well
to deliver us the Painter 7 Update (for both Mac and Windows ) and
accompanying support materials and goodies:

The Procreate site worked perfectly today and all
of the files that were supposed to be there were there, whether or not
they were seen. (And I've been no great lover of the Procreate site!)

For anyone interested:

I've just installed the Painter 7 Update without a single hitch and have
been going through the "Updated Functionality" list. So far:

I'm delighted to see the "Out of Tiles memory error message has been
resolved. (We'll see, but it sounds good.)

Edges of Water Color brush strokes are no longer white.. are instead
transparent.. Yippee!.

Eraser Dry is fixed and doesn't change to last used color (this is a
Painter 7 Water Color Eraser that had some serious issues with reality.)

Zoom ot Fit is still not quite there yet but it's lots better, no more
vanishing to a postage stamp image windows with the image turned upside
down.

While checking things, I found a couple of bugs are still in Painter 7:

Zoom still jumps arbitrarily to high magnification like 9999 % or
10,000% leaving me dizzy. This happens when I use continuous Zoom-in and
also Zoom-out.

Also, sizing the image window is still buggy and it often disappears off
the edge of my screen with no way for me to move the window. I still
have to "half-minimize" it using the middle icon in the upper right
corner of the screen, then manually drag it around and stretch it to fit
just inside the Painter screen (which is always maximized).

On another subject, still part of the Painter 7 Update, the new Tinting
brushes are pretty nice and I'll be interested to hear what others think
of them.

Thanks, John Derry! A Merry Derry Christmas to you! :o)
