Description of Problem: Most brushes are sluggish and some have seconds of
lag time. Zooming on large pages is slow, ghosting occurs
when using the grabber tool to
move the page and slow.
Version: Painter8
OS/Language: Mac OS X.2 (English) G4 733MHz, RAM 600MB, mouse and Wacom
Tablet
Printer: (none)
Steps to duplicate:
1. Create a 20cmX20cm document with 300 dpi
2. select water color brush and draw a long circling line, the pointer is
not following the line.
3. select grabber tool and work around on the document
Results:
On Mac
- Water Color brush works so slow and takes seconds to keep up
with pointer
- Ghosting effect occurs with grabbing tool while moving the
document
On Windows2000
- Same problem with Water Color on Mac, slow
- Grabber tool works on reasonable speed
Any idea on how to fix this??
My workaround is to do large watercolor washes with the airbrushes' digital
airbrush variant.
Someone once yelled at me in private email for saying that, but the truth
is, it's all just programming code, it doesn't matter what the programmers
called the brushes, I use what works for what I'm trying to do.
If you were using the watercolor brushes that create layers, that might be
why the grabber tool is slow. I find things slow down the more layers I have
and I try to drop them as often as I can.
Hope this helps!
