slow CPU

I have on my vdr 170 the Pentium 4 3Ggz , patched xine-1.1.12 and coreavc 1.7.0
During watching of 1080i dvb channels I have overloading CPU (it's right).
For CPU load reduction I switched off the deinterlacing in coreavc

Deinterlacing:

key: di
3 : None

but seems to me it doesn't help.

I'm ready to picture-quality degradation, but could someone to advice how can I decrease the CPU load (options in xine, settings in coreavc, others methods....)

I doubt there is much you can do - really you need a dual core
processor for HD reception without graphical acceleration (impossible
right now in linux...)
