Greg,
I used to do tech support for Applecare, I am pretty good at
troubleshooting Macs and PCs. I run a small webserver for a business
and am developing a Drupal site for that. I am also working towards
moving a company's website from standard html/css to a wordpress
format. I expect to have that done by the end of the school year (only
work on it in my spare time). I expect to become proficient at WP
during this process. I have used it in the past, but would not
consider myself an expert at this point.
I am interested in assisting people with troubleshooting software
issues and contributing ideas for the usage of WP plugins, etc. I also
hope to develop my PhP skills and assist others with some coding
stuff. This is my first time doing development stuff as part of my
full time job, so I want to be exposed to as much technical stuff as
possible, and hopefully share those experiences with others who need
help.
Eventually, I would like to work on open source wordpress plugins that
would enhance the platform to mimic much of the functionality of
College Publisher. I don't know enough about coding now, but I have
been studying object oriented stuff for a while now and hope to write
some stuff that others could use.
I am probably just going to check out the other posts in the group and
investigate terminology that looks unfamiliar until I get up to speed
on everything. I have only been at this job for a few months and am
sure that I will be able to offer a lot more to this community as I
gain experience.
Thanks,
Jay
