Paul has suggested several items that need to be addressed, which are pasted here:

-"Where do we want to be in 3 months, 6 months, 12 months, 18 months, and 24 months? In five years?
-If we want a director, would that person work for free, or deferred wages, and for what period?
 -What would those wages be?
-What are the details of the job description? Fundraising for their own salary, obviously, among other things. How do we get to a job description?
-In Maine, I hear it is fairly easy and cheap to incorporate. But it requires 3 people minimum to be on the board. Do we have three people willing to be on that board?
-To get to a job description and a business plan we would need a small committee to write these up. Do we have three people to be on a committee?
-And also to be fair, we would then publicize the job opening and interview candidates.
-Seems to me the answers to these questions will answer the proposal--do we want to "go in" on this?"

I believe that both Larry and Mike have suggested creating more detailed 6 &12 month plans.

All of this is important and that project has been working its way up my to do list.  I will be ready to start soon on developing a detailed plan to address to above items. Is there anyone available to participate, perhaps in a committee as Paul has suggested?  We could create a lists of tasks and divide it up.  I anticipate items such as researching sources of funding for initial startup, getting lists of job fairs, estimating expenses for exhibits for a variety of promotional campaigns, office type expenses, attorney fees, ect.  We will also need to explore ideas for continuing revenue sources so that we don't need to rely upon contributions and the government for support.

If anyone is interested, please contact me.

Hi Brad,     All very good questions.  Is this grist for the CM phone meeting agenda?  I'd certainly like to be in on this, at least in a peripheral way.  The Ag calenda is at its busiest at this time of year and I'm adding a small orchard to the usual list.  But my big focus is getting our Ag Commission off the ground and continuing to work on the Co-op Farm idea.  UMO's Margaret Chase Smith Center said they'd help us with the former, especially canvassing and itemizing all the farmers & growers in town.  And I have an interested couple from away coming to visit here for a few days so we can discuss going co-op with my place.  So I may not be able to jump in with both feet.  But it sure sounds like something worth exploring.  Please keep me posted.

Best,
Jim

Hello Brad,
The items you mention seem much closer to the size and scope of what Larry suggested was needed next at the post-Hope Festival meeting than the full proposal/plan you sent out shortly after the meeting.  Thank you for this.  While I cannot commit to being on the committee and taking on 1/3 of the tasks, I could take on one distinct project during June and July involving approximately 4 hours per week.  Certainly researching job fairs, county fairs, and other similar events along with the costs and deadlines involved would be manageable.
Deborah

Thanks Deborah,

Jim Murphy has also responded and wants to help after taking care of a few summer projects.  I'll keep you informed.
