Job Description
Work with other Linux/UNIX admins to install, build, configure, patch and
support
numerous landscapes of physical and virtual SLES Linux servers.
Ensure high availability of Linux systems through ongoing monitoring of
performance and
capacity
Compile/report/trend monthly statistics on the SLES Linux landscape to
Infrastructure
management
Document and streamline existing manual processes via scripting
Follow all existing change management, incident management and compliance
processes
Investigate, identify and resolve critical incidents through the use of
analytical, diagnostic
and troubleshooting skills and tools.
Install and maintain the operating system and related software products.
Provides periodic reports to users and managers of systems status.
Required Experience
Knowledge of HP hardware and NetApp SAN storage/fabric architecture.
Experience with VMware virtualization products including but not limited to
ESX,
vSphere, and vMotion.
Experience in Systems Administration of SuSE Linux systems in a large scale
production
environment.
Familiarity in Cisco, Oracle databases, SAP, IBM Power system.
