with USA Cycling, see below e-mail.

MT SNOW HERE I COME !!!  Guning to defend my National Title, do what Jim
Brown did last year and get 2 back to back National Titles in Downhill !

If you won the Beginner category in your age-group and discipline at the
2007 MTB Nationals, you would automatically be qualified to compete at the
2008 MTB Nationals as a Sport.

The 2008 qualification events are:
USAC-MTB National Calendar events
State/Regional Championships
AMBC

Subject: Question about Qualifying for Mt Snow Nationals

Hi Kelli,

I am a little confused about whether I am qualified for the Nationals at Mt
Snow, VT this summer. I was last years Nat Champ in DH in my age.class,
Men's BEG 40-49.  This year I am running Sport Class.  Am I automatically
qualified for this years Championships, due to last years Title.  If not,
where do I have to compete to be qualified.  I did race at NMBS #1 in
Fontana and finished 4th (Podium), however, that does not appear to have
qualified me to compete at Mt Snow.   I also raced at Sea Otter, but
finished 24th in Sport.  According to the USA Cycling Website, there is no
mention of 2007 National Champions being qualified to compete in the 2008
Nationals, also, the list of venues for qualifying for this year does not
appear to include NMBS #1 (Fontana) or the Sea Otter Race, yet, on the list
of cyclist that have already qualified for this years Nationals, there are
several racers that are listed as qualified based on there finish at Sea
Otter.

Can you help me here ?  I want to race at Nationals and need to make my
travel arrangements soon.
