More bike paths

El Dorado County just released a bid package for a Class I Bike Path from
Forni Road to Missouri Flat Rd in Placerville that bids on 10/20 and is
scheduled to start this year, so maybe by next spring/summer it will be open
for use.

Hi All, Above is an announcement about the meeting this Wednesday. This should have good discussion and present opportunities for all trail use stake holders to get involved in the future plans for El Dorado County. Carl Clark will be presenting the update. This is sure to be more informative and have a bigger impact on the quality of your life than the Presidential Debat, so, Jill and I will be going. I also think it would be important to have Mtn Bikers input here.

Our 9:00 Wednesday rides still meet at the Sierra Mountain Espresso,
but I hear that their new coffee house, "Cool Beans" will open this

Hey Bill, AWESOME News, this is a great accomplishment, both for cyclist, and for the safety of the kids it will serve. I am sure we could get at least a couple folks from the Cool Cycling Club to be involved in supporting a Bike to School Day event !

Greetings to all,

Phase 1 of the Northside Bike Trail has received funding from the safe routes to school program. The project received $999,500 for the portion of the trail that will run from Auburn Lake Trails (gate one) north of 193 to the junction at 49. The projected time line for completion is 2012. I can wait a few more years. We have been working on this since 1999.

Hey All!
Bert and I are heading up to the mountains to ride the bike path from Truckee to Sunnyside and back to the car in Truckee. Sunnyside lodge no longer is serving lunch on the deck (season closed), so we would plan to eat in old town Truckee after our ride. It is about 30 miles round trip. We are riding road bikes on hiway 89 and on the bike path. Anyone interested please call and let us know so we can coordinate time, place, and transportation (we can take 2 small people and 2 small bikes, or 1 extra person and 1 bike)! It is supposed to be 72 degrees there tomorrow, the best day of the week.
