Package command error in Mediator install.xml

Hi ,

I'm using Control tier 3.4.6

When I call package command I see this error in jetty log and the
command take long time to finish.

What can be the cause ?

Hi Itai,

I believe the error is being caused when one of the Mediator objects you have is executing its Install command.

If you execute the "Install" command via the command-line for the Mediator on its own, does an error occur?

Note; when you use the "Package commands" button on workbench, any objects of that type that are deployed to the server node will automatically have the "Install" command executed for them.

Hi Greg

We found that the problem was in the install, and we got into the
install command in the mediator and changed the default so that it
will not distribute the change to all the nodes.

Remember, we are working in a VM based environment and most of our
nodes are not up when we do the package commands. I think that either
this should not be the default or that there will be a visible
parameter to disable this option

Hi Raphy,

Yes it sounds like either the Install command or the way it is invoked should be updated so this doesn't happen.

I've added a tracker item for it.  I consider it a bug since it isn't the intended behavior of repackaging a type to have it dispatch a command across the network:
