to ControlTier
While investigating Controltier I noticed that SourceForge doesn't
show any SVN write transactions or issues closed since last September
2011 (http://sourceforge.net/projects/controltier/stats/scm?
repo=SVNRepository&dates=2011-01-17+to+2012-03-18). I also ran across
entries in this group suggesting that Rundeck will be replacing
Controltier.

- Do I understand correctly that development of Controltier as such
has been discontinued in favor of Rundeck?

Thank you,

Brian

Hi Brian,

So far as DTO Solution's efforts and concerned, we've considered ControlTier in maintenance mode since the 3.6.1 release and have put our development efforts into Rundeck (and other open source projects on Github that we directly sponsor such as Rerun and Yana/Yana2).

That said, there is a good community of users around ControlTier and you'll see that this group is reasonable active with community activity of one sort or the other.

Note that Rundeck's feature set replaces only a fraction of that of the ControlTier framework and that these days we're promoting the much more flexible approach of "loosely-coupled tool-chain" (with or without other parts of ControlTier such as the Ant-based Ctl modules) that assemble build and deployment automation solutions from a broad range of open source projects (e.g. Chef, Puppet, etc, etc).

Anthony.
