Hi all,

I'm in a bit of a resourcing pickle and have exhausted my personal network, so I'm reaching out again to the larger community for suggestions.

I've got a project in process that requires an entire CS team. Everyone I know is currently working. The project is a terrific opportunity for an academic client on a very large redesign and CMS migration, with commitment through 6/31 and potential for the longer term.

Shorter-term contracts are possible in the interim as well, for anyone who might have something down the road but who are available immediately.

Depending upon levels of experience, specialties, and rates, a variety of resourcing options could be worked out. So please don't be hesitant to offer possible solutions if you know of someone who's available but may not match up exactly with the following descriptions.

Here's our current ask:

  • An experienced web editor in Washington, DC, or willing to work there through June. Responsibilities include substantial leadership and client relations, stakeholder training, and experience in developing editorial style guides and in managing the web publishing cycle.
  • A content strategist with experience in creating taxonomies and working with user experience deliverables (site maps, wireframes, visual comps) to facilitate the work of IA and IDs in designing navigation and filtered search functionality. Working with relational databases is a plus, but not required--but an understanding of complex content matrices is a must.
Ideally, this person would be available to work in NY or Washington, DC. However, we could manage with someone remote if they have excellent skills and can work independently.

  • An experienced content strategist able to define messaging strategy and map content migration into a CMS from a large variety of sources and systems. Similar working arrangement as above.
OR
  • Anyone who's available for a complex and challenging project with a great bunch of people, who wants to make good money and get some impressive names in their portfolio, who has a sound understanding of the concepts and processes I've described above, who has incredibly good data management and/or web content and/or information architecture skills, and who learns really fast. (This kind of contractor would need to be in NYC or DC for supervisory/training purposes.)

Thanks very much for any leads!

Elena

Elena,

I'll reply in depth later, but I think I can help in a few ways. I current di ia/ux/content strategy for 2tor.com (freelance) and have room on my plate.

I'm Brooklyn-based, write for HuffPost and Think Vitamin.

More later, but I'm deeply familiar with higher ed online.

Hi Chrissie,

Your name is extremely familiar to me. I'm not sure why/where. Probably HuffPost or this group.

I'm thrilled to get your reply and would love to talk with you at your earliest convenience.

You can better reach me for this purpose at cc_e...@sapient.com or by mobile at 917-517-1976.

Best,

Elena
