Federated search does not work

I have four collections configured using FileConnector which require credentials.

Individually, the collections work fine, but the Federated search collection always returns nothing.

From the configuration page, I can see that files were crawled, but none were indexed.

I thought it had something with the credentials, but I configured one, just like for the other collections.

That being said, when I configure it, I cannot set a connector because there's no connector required for Federated search, I think.
