The Chumby Hacker Board is an embedded single-board Linux-based
computer, designed for hacking.

It's substantially more powerful than an Arduino... it's in the range
of something more like a competitor to the BeagleBoard. It's
substantially cheaper than the BeagleBoard, though.

Anyway... I thought some of you might find this interesting :)

That's a pretty awesome little board. ARM926EJ is a very versatile SoC
core which I've seen used successfully in several products.
I'm thinking of using a similar spec machine for the next gen Beagle
pedal (whenever that is). Maybe not the Chumby due to analog audio
complications.

It looks like a nice intermediate point between AVR and higher-end ARM
boards like the Beagle.

Hey Luke,

This is an interesting thing. At first glance it doesn't appear
intertubes connectable? Am I missing something?

Sam.

USB ethernet adapter?

If any of those USB ports can be OTG or gadget, then CDC ethernet over
USB cable should also work (to a dev PC).

I think the USB ports are OTG or Host, so you might be able to use a
USB audio I/O.

I notice Sparkfun has Chumby parts for sale from time to time, so if
you need parts beyond the bare board (LCD for example) that might be
worth a look.

@Sam:

Yeah, as others have said, there is no ethernet or anything on-board,
which is a bit of a shame.
You would need to have some form of other hardware to plug into USB to
connect to your desired tubes, eg. wired ethernet, wireless or 3G.

It's an interesting option for 3G tubing connection, I wonder if the
huweai modules from OpenWRT would work there?

I do think they have sold it short by not having even a wired ethernet
option...

Sam.
