USA combined shipment Friday May 17th

Greetings all,

For the "parts order" next week we're doing it slightly differently and bringing a consolidated shipment through the CCHS MyUS box. 

If any financial CCHS members wish to combine and save on shipping, let me know and I can put your name on the mailbox, so they can receive your parcel(s) accurately and without delay 

I'll be ordering from Pololu tonight if anyone wants to share in that.    

Ideally ship goods by tonight /tomorrow morning so cheap US ground shipping gets to the MyUS box in time.   And get in quick before the dollar goes further south!

The USA parts just came in, I'll bring them to the space tomorrow 

I have to say I'm very impressed with the DHL shipping network, I only sent the shipment request first up Saturday morning.   Perhaps this will be useful for getting 3d printer parts ex USA in time for the 3d printer evenings, as well as the general electronics...

Can you explain to me again exactly how the MyUS mailbox thing works? Do they only do a shipment periodically when we tell them to? I want to make use of this, but can I just put a Digikey order in whenever I want even though it will wait for the next US --> Aus shipment to be shipped?

Luke, 

Thats exactly right.   Put the order in whenever you want and get it to the MyUS box.   We'll generally ship US -> Aus within 30 days, because they start charging $1 per box per day after that.   There is a good chance we will want the stuff more urgently than 30 days. 

Its useful for getting obscure parts, samples, etc available in the US.   It also lets us get things from US ebay if they don't ship to Aus.  

I'll set you up in the system and email you the details

I use a company called "Ship2me" for getting stuff from the USA.

I have a mailbox and shipping address in Florida.
