Hi All,

I'm not sure if this is an issue but maybe worth noting... I recently tried to pay my monthly membership via tidyclub but it would not allow me to pay :( .....     it said I already had an active membership under that email address... the annoying part was that I didn't get any email from tidyclub when the initial entries were put in so I didn't have any password to log into the account and check when my membership expired.... when I tried to reset the password for my email it said email not found !@#$$

I waited a couple of weeks and have just paid a new month... it found the previous subscription details based on my email address I guess (even though it didn't have any account associated with it??)  so all is in order for me now... but it seems to me that its impossible to sign up to check tidyclub account/membership if your details were entered initially and your membership is still active???

I figure this might affect people with yearly accounts so I thought I should raise it???

For everyone else they can just wait until their current monthly membership has expired then sign up as if a new user... which worked fine for me.

Cheers
Greg

Hi Greg,

We've been working with TidyClub on a related issue, so I'll bring
this up along side that.*

I appreciate you bringing it to the attention of everyone, and as you
say, it should be OK just to wait until your membership expires and
renew at that point.

In a fit of desperation, you can always pay by bank transfer or in
cash and make the Treasurer sort it out : )

Thanks,
Bob

*Related issue is that we cannot process payments made in cash or by
bank transfer until the current membership expires, so it seems this
issue is indeed structural.

Hello Again,

This morning I woke up to this update:
*****
The ability to reset a password added for members who has been
manually created by club admin.
*****

This should at least alleviate the more most frustrating aspect of
Greg's ordeal from reoccurring, however, it is still outstanding that
you may have to wait until your membership expires to renew. Still
looking to have that fixed.

Thanks everyone for their patience on this one. It is looking to be a
good move overall and the more we work out these problems, the easier
it should become. So if you have any issues, let me and/or the
committee and/or the whole list know.

Thanks,
Bob

Thanks Greg,

Everyone feel free to raise these issues with us, TidyClub have had some teething issues as they are a small business but at every step have been fantastic at sorting out bugs and adding features we have requested. They are interested in having the best product they can and they are happy for feedback positive and negative.

I just want to add that having TidyClub in place has been instrumental in running the hackerspace as it grows, the ability to properly manage fees, implement self service membership and keep track of everything in a friendly way has made our lives as administrators much easier. Well worth the odd bug here and there.
