Hi all,

We've got another working bee going on at Kent Lane this weekend.

I won't be there, but Andy Gelme will be running it in my place.

Starting at 10:00am, and winding down about 4:30pm.

Objectives:
  1. Clean the remainder of the floor (tough spots)
  2. Clean the east wall (with sugar soap)
  3. Clean the west wall (finish off with wire brush, then sugar soap)
  4. Re-key and re-attach the lock to the back door
  5. Secure the toilet window (mesh/metalwork)
  6. Build a frame/table to hold the Lathe (metalwork)
  7. BondCrete the east wall (leave approx 24 hrs to dry). See page 8 of the Bondcrete application guide ( http://www.bondall.com/_literature_21070/BondCrete_Application_Guide ) for mixing and application details.

Notes:
The west wall (with the windows in it) has already been half-done previously with a wire brush. This just needs completing.
All cleaning work must be done before the BondCrete is applied. We do not want to end up with anything getting stuck to the wall on top of the BondCrete (dust, paint chips, rust, etc), as then the BondCrete will not be as effective.
Ben Hillier, Rob Britten and John Bosua have stepped up to do the metalwork. If you want to help out, please organise it with them.
Andy will organise if people will be taking care of specific tasks on the day.

Yo Stuart,
I am busy this Saturday with family. When a set design for the lathe stand is agreed by whoever is deciding, I can fabricate it on site.
Cheers
Ben

It was a quiet Saturday, however George, Bill and Ben knocked over the first three goals (thanks !) ... so, we are now ready to apply BondCrete to the walls and then paint !

4. Shane dropped by and we discussed the current plans (slight modifications: bookshelf, fireplace).  In particular, getting a version ready for council planning.

5. The back room was tidied up, including all of the CCHS gear.  The whole space was sorted out, including removing rubbish and sorted out tools which had spread to the four corners of the garage :)

I'll pick up some BondCrete before Tuesday.

Stuart already has paint for the weekend.  I've dropped off a couple of rollers and paint holders, but on Tuesday we should review what other tools we'll need.

  1. Re-key and re-attach the lock to the back door

I've got the lock (and removed the barrel from the door).  Will have this re-keyed for next weekend.

Haven't happened yet.  Sounds like everyone had a busy weekend !

Ben got busy with his angle-grinder with wire-brush attachment on the west wall removing large chunks of stuff.

Andy will organise if people will be taking care of specific tasks on the day.

Back to you Stuart :)
