Hi Matt,

Welcome! Tuesday is an excellent chance to meet many of our members - we've got a committee meeting that evening, so you'll be assured of meeting those folks and I'm sure, many others.

Just FYI, there is a 3d-printing special interest night on the 1st & 3rd Monday of each month. This coming Monday, the 6th, is one such time... I'll leave the rest up to you if you want to connect the dots : )

You've obviously found the mailing list, which is an excellent start. Meetup might also help get you involved:

Hey CCHS!

My name is Matt and I'm a mechanical engineer who recently moved here from Perth. I'm planning on coming down to your Tuesday meeting but I thought I would introduce myself here first. I'm just looking to get involved with a like minded community of hackers and tinkerers. I'm mostly interested in projects involving 3D printing and any kind of robotics (walking, flying whatever). I have a small website where I try to share what I get up to (www.stagrobotics.com sorry it needs a lot more attention). Looking forward to meeting you guys.

Hi mate

Welcome!

I am a Perth boy as well.

I run The Melbourne Robot Workshop through the club.
We do robotics, props and costuming.

I am sure others will respond with more info. We have lots of different activities run through the Hackerspace so dont be shy, drop in and say hello.
