Hey, all,
got call this morning from the techie fixing the Hackerspace ADSL / phone line
(at totally heathen time of 10:30am on a Sunday, I must add...)
Confirmed the line fault was at the exchange in which the patch cable / jumper had failed due to their policy of re-using such items until they die.
'New' (hopefully brand new out of box never been 'pre-loved' and good quality will last for years type of 'new') jumper lead has been installed.
Hopefully the line is now active again, and ADSL2+ is back on.
Could someone plz check this is so?
Many thanks,
Wes.

Yeah, teaching has 'affected' me somewhat.
Update on ADSL:
- got call back from TPG
- they're getting a line engineer onto the job
- engineer is "Angelo"
- commitment date between now and 18th July
- expressed my horror at such delay
- asked who to make formal complaint in this regard
- TPG operator promised to expedite fix
- TPG confirms it's some line prob at Telstra's end
- they'll call back if/when

Imagine ... I spent a couple of hours with Wes this afternoon ... and he
didn't commit "death by dad joke" :)
I swear, he bottles them up specifically for mailing list posts. ;)
