What I have been donig is using the Default setting but disabling
the surface restriction, Hollywood is Cushion track and I found the
surface similar enough to the turf that it doesn't matter all that
much. I then take the top three OL horses and,
A) if it is a route I will see if one of the three top OL horses is
in the top three (lowest) RF. If more than one of the OL horses is in
the top three RF, I will use the lowest (top rated) RF horse as my
Place bet. Or,
B) if it is a sprint I will see if one of the top three OL horses
is in the top three RES. Again if more than one I will take the one
with the highest RES as my place bet.
If none of the top three OL horses are in the top three RES/RF I will
pass the race.
If there is a first time starter with a higher FT than any of the
three top OL horses I will pass the race.
I used this strategy for 89 races (bet real money). I had 51% Place
wins at an average mutuel of $3.95 for an ROI of 4%.
Not much of a return but a return nonetheless. I am using a percentage
of bankroll money management plan.
I am trying a win bet strategy now, I have only just started so I
have no stats.
Thoroghbred, when you make your picks, what settings are you using?
Are you using default? Or is each race specific? I know there is no
black box. My judgement is coming out of the type of race that happens
to be running, route or sprint.
I am also trying to come up with a contender selection proccess based
on best time (BT) but that isn't working as well. Ok enough for now.
Good Luck.
