[Showcase Sunday] Lego Space Rovers

Hi All,

Last weekend (April 20-21) me and my friends participated in International Space Apps Challenge 2013.

There were various challenges to solve.

We picked up Lego Rovers challenge.

Challenge Description:

"Design a remote operation system to control a Lego Robot through a computer or smartphone. The goal of this system is to help make the Lego Robot more entertaining, educational, and accessible to students and teachers, all while serving the Lego Robot’s goal in demonstrating the unique challenges facing the remote operation of planetary rovers and how increased robot autonomy can help address such challenges."

We hacked for 2 days and came up with a web based solution.

At the end of the event we demoed the project.

We had lots of fun.

Learnings:

- meteor web framework

- html,css and javascript ( I am not a web developer)

- Protocols and techniques for connection between web server and lego driver program.
