Hi folks,

You guys wouldn't happen to know about mixing voice and raw audio on Android phones would you ?

I've googled quite a lot about it only to avail a "no" as a response. Here's my problem.

I must mix a reference audio with the ongoing voice stream so that at the receiving side the callee hears it as though the caller is in a noisy environment. There are apps on this feature called call cheaters. They are all on Symbian phones. This is hardware feature.  If you guys know of a phone that has such a facility, please let me know. It'll be a great help.

Last time I saw it, was on a Fly phone. Don't remember the model number though.

PS: Why does batman need a call cheater? To fool the Joker?! :)

Hi Vinay,

Thanks. A quick googling reveals that that feature is available on fly phones which come with a proprietary OS. Are you sure this phone you are talking about is with android on it?
And about the batman thing, I typed the mail in a hurry and a missed to take out the signature :D

I'm not sure about the OS. May be proprietary. UI looked androidish... but they may have done that on purpose.

You might need to explore tinyalsa part, sound.conf file, where audio path/policy defined.
Thanks.

Hi, it can certainly be done, I am assuming you are writing an app? Look at this file https://github.com/WhisperSystems/RedPhone/blob/master/AndroidManifest.xml,
this should give you a clue to what Redphone does.
