How to tell if window from remote host

to X, or not to X...

Problem with manage/unmanage widget
We have an application that manages/unmanages a widget depending on certain logic. It works fine on almost every box we run. We set up a new standalone Solaris 11 machine for QA and the widget is always managed, it won't unmanage. Has anyone seen something like this before? Where a widget refuses to... more »

Setting window property causing X error
I am writing a clipboard handler for X and am confused on what the ICCCM section 2.6.2 means when it says: "If the owner fails to convert the target named by an atom in the MULTIPLE property, it should replace that atom in the property with None." I assumed None meant for the property type so I wrote this code:... more »

XmOptionMenu Margin Problem
I have three forms that are visually stacked vertically with each form having several widgets laid out horizontally. All three forms have the left-most widget left-attached to the form. The first two forms have a XmPushButton as the left-most widget while the third form has an XmOptionMenu as the left-most widget. The two pushbuttons are aligned... more »

Preserving UNIX environment variable in a session?
Hello, I am currently playing a bit with the recently open sourced Common Desktop Enviroment [1]. CDE has a standard session manager, using X Session Manager Protocol. For some applications I am setting up some environment variables, for example my rxvt-unicode (urxvt) is started as "env LANG=pl_PL.UTF-8 /usr/local/bin/urxvt"... more »

Xming website release
I have been experimenting with the "public domain" version of Xming, but there is an issue with display allocation. Basically the server will silently fail to start up if the requested display number is already in use. You can workaround this by choosing different numbers until it starts successfully.... more »

computer repair boston
For every successful business operating in Boston, network support invariably becomes an issue at some point. Being hooked up to the World Wide Web, or Internet, is one thing; however, chances are that when it comes to the day-to-day operations of the company, the Intranet is just as important.... more »
