What's the point of having New Item if it > does not work? I use KDE 4.7.2 with siduction (based on Debian sid). This also once has driven me nuts. It's a well-known bug. This problem is solved with KDE 4.7.3. I'm using KDE 4.7.4 (with as much akonadi nonsense turned off) under openSuSE 12.1, and there all this works very well. The menu is updated when installing/removing new software from the repository as well as when you add/remove entries to/from the menu by hand. -- Hendrik van Hees Frankfurt Institute of Advanced Studies D-60438 Frankfurt am Main http://fias.uni-frankfurt.de/~hees/
