I used to keep the bios time on GMT and the OS time on local. The other
day the local time zone alpha was also displayed althought the clock
prefs checkbox fopr 'show time zone' was empty. So I provisionally
changed the OS time to be GMT also. Now if I try to change back to local
(pers. Settings, Date & Time) it refuses to take regardless of if I do
it as user supplying the root pwd or as root. The time zone clicked upon
does NOT get copied into the active timezone box.
