A friend's wife is an online video-game (as in she pays a fee to download
games from some company, vs playing online.. whatever the correct term may
be) addict..
She's constantly downloading games to play for a day or two and then
deleting 'em. I was surprised at the number of 'em and how good they look..
Not the chess and checkers stuff I've done online..
But she's constantly having problems with her computer... which I can never
convince her are atleast possibly caused by all the games... Am I wrong? I
know that I've normally had to re-install Windows every few yrs to get rid
of all the 'garbage,' etc left along the way.. I'd think she's increasing
the rate by a few thousand times..
Am I wrong? If not/so, there anything on the web concerning such?...
Thanks!

Well in theory there shouldn't really be a problem if she uninstalls the
games in the correct way. But that's the theory. In practice I find that
files are often left behind (entire folders sometimes) plus all sorts of
entries in the registry etc though that shouldn't really affect normal
operation other than slowing things down a little. To avoid the (rather
long) trouble of reinstalling Windows and all the programmes used
normally, you could start by running a good registry/junk cleaner, plus,
of course (if you haven't done so already), programmes to clean out any
malware/trojans/spys etc
