  What program would you use as &#39;local buffer&#39; though? I can see how this would &lt;br&gt; work in principle, but are unsure how to do this in practice. &lt;br&gt; I&#39;m using wget (and have been for 7 hours), but have only tranfered 2.5 GB, &lt;br&gt; which is an average of about 1 MB/s. Clearly well below the 90 MB/s I can &lt;br&gt; achieve on large files via ftp. Therefore &#39;wget&#39; does not seem to be the answer

  Ah, my mistake. I got the impression that expansion was automatic until &lt;br&gt; a recent OpenSolaris build, which added &amp;quot;autoexpand&amp;quot; as a settable flag. &lt;br&gt; Oh well.   Hi Colin, &lt;br&gt; You should be able to export and import the pool to see the expanded &lt;br&gt; pool size. A reboot might work too. &lt;br&gt; This issue is fixed in the Solaris Nevada release, build 117. &lt;br&gt; Cindy
