I have a HP DL 160 G6 and soon to get some HP DL 160 G8 running Solaris 10, I've never worked with SAN or NAS, I'm looking of an IP based external storage cabinet.

I went to HP storage web site and see they have HP P2000 MSA but this has FC/iSCSI which not an IP interface? Correct ?

Like i said looking for a external IP based storage box something that Solaris 10 running on a HP DL 160 G6 or G8 could use.

Thanks

I've Gotten confused by the difference between NAS and SAN,,,
NAS is stand alone box with Network interface, where SAN is box that makes the drive look like a local device ( ie.. HBA )

But again what is a good solution to each NAS or SAN....

How has the 160 been working out for you?

How big ZFS pools are you hoping to serve to your 1U servers?
