I've looked at the FAQ but perhaps I don't know how to word this...

I have a bunch of new boxes (actually older boxes) Spac 5's, some
10's and a couple 20's that I need to load fresh OS installs onto.

None of them have CDROM's on them but I have a CDROM in a currently
working Sparc20 that is internal.

Is there some way to get the new boxes to look to the remote CDROM
to boot from so that I can load the OS?

Sure would make building these boxes a lot easier if it is
possible.

TIA...

Read the Advanced Installation Guide (which came with your OS media,
or try to find it at docs.sun.com), esp. chapter devoted to JumpStart
server configuration.

In article <8i37gl$c7r$1...@sp-4.apollo.lv>,

-- Another way, load os into the box with cdrom, and use the script on
the os cd to setup a installation server, you have checkout the mac
address of those other boxes for setup process. At last, boot those
boxes from net. That's what I have tried before, it works well. Maybe
JumpStart is better, but I've never tried it.
