Hi, I am trying to, via ethernet, connect from the console of a sun e
450 and a sun e 350. How do I, using this type of device:
http://aaxeon.com/s.nl/sc.7/category.372/.f

do so?

Is there a db25 to rj45 connector?

Another question, on one e 450, the devalias are incorrect, I tried
resetting to factory defaults, however, the alias did not clear
out...any ideas on how I may clear the lias and reset to factory
defaults(both from firmware and via the eeprom comand)

Are you trying to connect from ethernet to a E450 serial console?

See a E450 eeprom below, use # eeprom devalias <device to boot from>,
and from openboot setenv devalias <device to boot from>

If you mean the "terminal server" box on that page then yes, they can
give you access to the serial consoles over TCP/IP. The one I remember
using gave telnet access, looks like the models from that company offer
ssh access as well. Nice. Expensive :-(

No, you need reasonably sophisticated gear to switch between the
different protocols.

It might not be an option for you, but modern SPARC boxes have consoles
accessible through extra "management" Ethernet ports.

Which device are you referring to? That page shows several. Presumably
you'd use one of the terminal servers and configure it. I don't have an
aaxeon, so I can't guess.

> Is there a db25 to rj45 connector?

There can be. Their manual should give you the pinouts for their RJ45
port. The Sun has a standard DTE wired serial port. The terminal
server should have instructions for connecting to a DTE device.

Lots of companies sell little DB25-RJ45 shrouds that you can wire up
however you need. The DB25 pinout is standard, but the RJ45 is not.
You'd need to check with aaxeon for what they're doing. I would hope
they would be able to provide the correct connector sind the DB25 wiring
is known.
