The server is running Solaris 8 SPARC, connected over a HBA to a
Storage.
Looking on the Ser Num and Cap we can see that disks on Controller 5
Target 0 looks like the same on Controller 5 Target 1....
Is that possible?? How should this works??
Tks,
MPIO?
Multipathing?
What storage, BTW?
Rainer
I am just wondering - is the host connected to storage directly or
through FC switch?
the storage - it should be EMC (according to vendor ID)?
"Storage"? SAN involved here?

Yes.

If you have multiple paths from the host to the "disk", then you'll see
multiple entries for it in the device tree.
If your array has two front-end ports, both to a switch, that switch to
the host, all visible via zoning, this this display would be expected.

DGC is CLariion, which has two serviceprozessors and maybe is connected
with both to san and have zonings to the same hba.
The last time I looked, almost five years ago, Clarion belonged to EMC^2.
to be more accurate (if you would like to tackle the vendors name) -
DGC means Data General Corporation that was acquired by EMC in 1999.
DGC had the mentioned product line called by Clariion. Now, obviously,
it's EMC.
