Subject: syslogd crash in Solaris 2.7

  Hello,

I have a problem with the syslogd. We are using the output from
syslogd to
analyse some debug data. Now it happens very seldom, that the syslogd
  process crashes.

Question 1: Does anybody know about such a problem for the kernel
version
  we are using?
Question 2: Do a newer patch exist to solve this problem?
Question 3: I have tried to respawn it via the init process (entry in
/etc/inittab (sy:34:respawn:/usr/sbin/syslogd)). But the syslogd is
now
every 3 minutes restarted several times even if the syslogd is
running.
  What do I am wrong.

  Here is my kernel version:

  # showrev
  ...
Kernel version: SunOS 5.7 Generic 106541-18 August 2001

  Thanks in advance
  Holger Koch
