Statement on Spam and VoteNader.org
Spam from VoteNader.org? (Or naderexplore04.org) You may have received spam email recently that appears to come from our campaign, or be about our campaign -- perhaps the "From" and or "Reply-to" addresses look like they are coming from VoteNader.org. Or perhaps you have received a message that appears to come from an... more »

Anyone have a spare 5.0.5 install cd?
I'm jinxed. My SCO 5.0.5 install cd went bad, and I've been unable to get a new one. It didn't occur to me to make a copy of it, because I could always get new media, right? Except SCO doesn't supply anything older than 5.0.7 any more. I don't want to pay for an upgrade just to be able to use an install disk (5.0.7 doesn't recognize older licenses).... more »

Create variable named variable$i in for loop
I'm obviously missing something. I have written a simple shellscript that performs a number of tests in a for loop. In each instance, I would like to log a count of how many successes the test encountered to then echo at the end. I'm doing it this way: limit=$1 for i in A B C D E do counter=0 success=0... more »

Semaphores In SCO UNIX (Progress 4GL related)
Hi all, Firstly, I apologize for the cross-posting, but I really am in desperate need of a solution to my problem. I am trying to increase the amount of memory available to Progress 4GL, using the buffers command (-B). So far I have increased the size from 50kb, to 20,000kb, which is noticably better, but my aim is to at least double... more »

Console hangs
OpenServer 5.0.6 After a power outage in which the system was shutdown while running on battery backup - attempts to restart the system resulted in the following problem: Main console stops at "Verifying System" and will not continue any further. Workstation terminals log in with no problems. System verification found and fixed 16 problems - but the symptom persists.... more »

uucp
I'm trying to trouble shoot a uucp problem ... here's the situation - Our polling server is an OpenServer 5.0.5 machine. From the machine, we poll, using uucp, several hundred customer machines on a regular (often daily) basis. Some historical background: Initially, both the customer machines - and our... more »

"netlog"
I have a customer that has requested we install a "netlog" on his OpenServer 5.0.5 machine ... along with disabling http and ftp. I'm pretty sure we can disable http and ftp by renaming S90atlas, S90fasttrack & S91manahttp to begin with lower case letters. But, I've never heard of an application called "netlog" and am not sure... more »

PPP (not morning star) in 5.0.6
I have a problem setting up PPP in OpenServer 5.0.6. We developed a protocol to install/setup this package on OpenServer 5.0.4 and that protocol has also worked on 5.0.5, too. However, when we setup this package on 5.0.6, it doesn't work properly ... here is the text from my technician - ...Here is a uname -X:... more »
