Hi,

I have some weird problem. When i print a "long" file (16 pages) only
the first 14 and a half get printed. I dont see any error messages in
the logs. What can i do to find this problem?

Greetings Lars

Is this a serial printer? This sounds like a flow control problem.
Your print jobs are going off to the bit bucket.

What you can do is describe your system and the configuration for that
printer.

What operating system? (OpenServer? Unixware?)
What O/S version? (OpenServer 5.0.5, 5.0.6, 5.0.7, 6, ...)
Is it a local printer or remote?
What printing systems are in use? (SysV, CUPS, ...)
For that printer are you using LPD, HPNP, Netcat, ... ?

A shot in the dark: I recall the admin tools in ancient OSR5 versions
used to create LPD entries in /etc/printcap with an MX parameter that
limited the size of output. The solution was to change that to MX#0
(unrestricted).

There is a small mod to the printer interface that insures that the
spooler is fully emptied. If you are not using that let me know and I
will send you a typical example of that script. It is reported by
other posters that the problem only happens with OSR6, so it may not
be the same issue.
