I had to load SCO 6.0 using a legacy USB keyboard and Legacy Sata
machine and then transfer the HD (after MP4) to a Dell 410 to make
it work. It still doesn't see the Sata CDROM and there seems to be
no "leagacy" settings in BIOS for it. sdiconfig gives the following
"UX:sdiconfig: ERROR: No entry for ide number 3 found in current
configuration." It finally sees the keyboard if I let it sit for a
few minutes after bootup. (Can't load with it though on the 410.)

Any help on getting the CDROM to work?

Carl,

OpenServer 6 maintains a resource database of all the
devices that it detects at install time on a server.

Installing OpenServer 6 on one server and then moving
the disk to another server is likely to result in problems
like the one you describe above unless the hardware is
exactly the same. Trying to change hardware in the
resource cna be tricky. For an example of what is involved
see:

I would recommend that instead of trying to rework
the resource database that you instead look to
do an install on the Dell T310 using the guidance at:

There's a tool called "LONE-TAR" for backup and system restoration
that I'll bet is far more useful for exactly this kind of situation.
But if you couldn't load OpenServer 6.0 on the target hardware, why
would you think that installing it elsewhere and transferring the hard
drive would magically allow it to properly detect and use this
different hardware?

When the install won't even recognize the keyboard, I had to load it
somewhere and then with MP4 installed and moving it back to the T310
it saw the keyboard. Then, with fortunate help from an internet
source, using DCU to load ahci as an HBA and rebooting got it to see
the CDROM.
I wish I could force the recommended list on the boss but he still
searches on the cheapest to the more expensive as his guide.
Ultimately, I must force SCO to work with what he gives me or be
forced myself to use an alternative system . . .

As I noticed on installing SCO on ML310 G5, the disk and cdrom must be
on the first target ID. Maybe that's your problem.
