Subject: permission denied when running certain unix commands
hello.  i need to execute gunzip using a low-level user account, but
everytime i run it, i get a  "permission denied" message.  i also have
access to the root acct so i have the capability to change permissions.
 does anyone know how i can modify the permssions for the low level
user acct?  thanks

You probably don't have write permission for the file or directory you
are trying to gunzip.  Copy it to your home directory or 'man chmod'.
