Subject: The 8 Processor Cray-2
I read out on the wiki page that Cray made an 8 processor Cray-2. I
was wondering what was the architecture compared to a 4 processor
Cray-2 and the 16 processor Cray-3. Were processors paired up or
grouped like in the Cray-3? Or in the Cray-2 where there where four
processors each with a private data paths to common memory, there was
now 8?

The only Cray 2 to have 8 processors was Serial number 2101.
Considering that the Cray 2 serial number series began at 2000
(disgregarding the Q1 and Q2) this particular machine is the 101st. I
have a friend who I will ask about the particular architecture of this
machine as I am also interested.

Ill try to get back to you ASAP.
