What causes "g_eli_read_done() failed" errors?

I have a server with root on a zpool and with the zpool on a RAID-Z1 made from a set of geli-encrypted providers. Periodically, I get errors like the following:
GEOM_ELI: g_eli_read_done() failed ada3p4.eli[READ(offset=9817661 44, length=28672)]
It's always the same geom (ada3p4.eli). The provider (ada3p4) never reports any other errors - no read or write failures, no DMA errors, etc. Sometimes these errors occur at boot time, when FreeBSD mounts the zpool, but I also see them when I scrub the zpool.... more »

ftpd setup time?

Hello,
FreeBSD's ftp demon apparently still does DNS lookups os some sorts when
accepting a connection. (and maybe more - auth/ident comes to mind)
Is there any way to get rid of that in an orderly fashion without
affecting any other part of the OS, and without mjaor config effort
(i.e. no workarounds via jail and similar creative stuff)?... more »

Hi all,
it's my first time with FreeBSD (8.2 on i386 platform). I'm trying to build a "pdfbox" whit two applications:
a) GhostScript - to convert PDF files into PCL (HP language)
b) GhostPDL - to convert PCL files into PDF

Coppermine port broken ?

I'm trying to replicate a working cpg-1.5.16 server on new hardware
but cannot get coppermine to work.
Everytime I try and run the install script after installation I get:
"Fatal error: Call to undefined function xml_parser_create() in
